Here's what Kyle of Ska Au Go Go had to say about "The Debonaires", debut album.
The long awaited and highly anticipated follow up to 1998's "Groovin' After Sundown" debut features a new and improved Debonaires. Gone is former singer Anthony Greene and in comes Skeletone sax player Kip Wirtzfield to fill the void as well as an extra sax which brings an entirely different feel to their sound. Another thing is they seemed to have strayed from ska all together and settled on a steady mix of skinhead reggae (which they've always played), roots style reggae and dub. The result is a fine reggae album by The Debonaires.

Of the 12 tracks on the album, my favorites would be "Criminal" featuring Kip's belting soulful voice, The Debonaires trademark big horn sound, and a steady rocking reggae rhythm. Ryan Tomazin really rocks the organ on this one and there's some excellent dub effects, including a part in the middle where the entire song drops out into pure drum and bass with nothing but phasing echos coming from seemingly nowhere

A fine offering, far superior to their debut, and I even thought their debut was good. I hope these guys move up in the ska/reggae scene and begin to get the recognition they deserve. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to hear the next one. Kyle of "Ska Au Go Go".
